Size guides
How to measure, and the size charts for every category we sell. Our stock comes from two sources — Premier Equine (UK sizing) and our European brands such as Equestro, Acavallo and Pool's (EU/cm sizing) — so both are covered below. If a product page lists its own chart, always follow that.
Horse rugs
Premier Equine · UK sizingHow to measure
Stand your horse square. Measure from the centre of the chest, along the side of the body, to the furthest point of the hindquarters (roughly where you want the rug to finish, near the tail). Take that measurement to the chart below. If you're between sizes, size up.

| 5'0" | 100 cm |
| 5'3" | 110 cm |

| 6'0" | 130 cm |
| 6'3" | 140 cm |

Boots & bandages
Brushing · tendon · over-reach · travelLeg boots are sized by build rather than a single measurement. Use your horse's height as the starting point, then check the fit around the cannon bone — a boot should sit snug without pinching, with the strike pad over the inside of the fetlock.
| Size | Also labelled | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Pony | Small (S) | up to 14.2 hh |
| Cob | Medium (M) | 14.2–15.2 hh |
| Full | Large (L) | 15.2–16.2 hh |
| X-Full | X-Large (XL) | 16.2 hh + |
Over-reach (bell) boots and travel boots use the same Pony / Cob / Full / X-Full bands. Polo/exercise bandages are one size (rolled to fit).
Riding boots
Premier Equine · long, field & dress bootsPremier Equine long boots come up small on the calf. The Regular fit is the one that most often comes back to us for a swap, so if you are between fits, or you usually take a Regular in other brands, choose Wide. The foot sizing is true to your normal UK shoe size.
To check before you order, measure with the breeches and socks you ride in, standing with your weight on the leg:
- Calf — around the widest part of your calf, tape snug but not tight.
- Height — from the floor to the back of your knee, then take off 2–3 cm so the boot can drop as it breaks in.
If your calf measurement sits within 1 cm of the top of the Regular range on the product's own chart, take the Wide. Leather boots give a little with wear; synthetic boots do not.
Saddle pads & numnahs
Premier Equine · UK sizing| Size | Suits | Typical saddle seat |
|---|---|---|
| Pony | 12.2–14.2 hh | 15"–16" |
| Cob | 14.2–15.2 hh | 16"–16.5" |
| Full | 15.2–16.3 hh | 17"–17.5" |
| X-Full | 17 hh + | 18" + |
Choose the shape to match your saddle: a dressage square for a straight-cut dressage saddle, a GP / close-contact numnah for a general-purpose or jump saddle.
AMA brands · Acavallo / Equestro — EU sizingEuropean pads and half-pads (Acavallo, Equestro) are cut for straighter Continental saddles and are usually sized S / M / L by saddle seat, given in centimetres. Acavallo half-pads run to a Large that fits 17½"–18" saddles. Follow the cm measurement on the individual product page.

Premier Equine jackets, coats & gilets
Premier EquinePremier Equine use four different size scales across their outerwear, depending on the range. Check which one your jacket is listed in, then use the matching block below. Measure around the fullest part of the chest or bust, keeping the tape level and wearing the base layer you'd normally ride in.

Hoof boots
AMA brands · Cavallo / AcavalloHoof boots are sized off the trimmed hoof. With the foot freshly trimmed and on firm ground, measure:
- Width — the widest point of the sole, in millimetres.
- Length — from the toe to the buttress line at the heel, in millimetres.
Match the larger of the two to the size table printed on the individual product page. If width and length give different sizes, go by width. Boots fit best 2–4 weeks into a trim cycle rather than immediately after.
